This chapter talks about RV parks. RV parks are usually pricey. Most parks charge around thirty dollars a night, but all kinds of discounts are available for members of organizations like Good Sam Club, or Camp Club USA. The Slabs is the largest free camping site in the country. Before World War II, the fort housed wooden barracks used for training soldiers for the North Africa campaign. Since the war, the day-to-day administration of the land has shifted through various governmental agencies. No one wanted to hold title to the land because all that remained when the army left were the cement slabs that supported the barracks (hence the name—the Slabs), and some unexploded ordnance.
